Sunday, September 27, 2026 -The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Garba
Suleiman, 54, a primary school teacher and resident of Damare, Yola South LGA,
for alleged def!lement of a 10-year-old girl.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim's
family at Divisional Police Headquarters, Yola South.
Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the
suspect allegedly lured the minor and had unlawful carnal knowledge of
her.
The victim has been taken to hospital for medical
examination.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has
ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department
(SCID), Yola, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
The CP condemned in strong terms all forms of Gender Based
V!olence and assures the public that justice will be served. He also urged
parents and guardians to be vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious
person or activity to the Police.
