Thursday, September 24, 2026 - A young Nigerian man has admitted to withdrawing N1.4m from his sick mother’s bank account and using the money to fund his betting activities.
The man, whose identity was not disclosed, made the
revelation in a social media post, detailing how he repeatedly withdrew money
from his mother’s account before eventually losing the entire amount to
betting.
During the confession, he first withdrew N100,000 on
September 13 and deposited the money into his betting account. He said he later
withdrew another N200,000 the same day and used it for betting.
He added that he continued withdrawing money from the
account in similar transactions until the total amount reached N1.4m, which he
eventually lost while gambling.
He said, “On September 13, I withdrew N100,000 from my sick
mother’s account and put it into my betting account. On the same day, I
withdrew N200,000 and put it into my betting account. I withdrew another
N300,000 on the same day. I continued withdrawing until it added up to N1.4m,
which I used to gamble. But the money was gone.”
