Saturday, September 26, 2026 - The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old for alleged violence, cultism and unlawful possession of firearms.
The spokesperson for the command, DSP Maureen Chioma
Chinaka, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, September 25, 2026 said
the suspect, Ugochukwu Precious, obtained an iPhone 17 Pro Max under the guise
of payment on delivery but failed to make payment.
According to the PPRO, the suspect allegedly resorted to the
use of thugs and threats against the phone seller.
"Based on the report received, by the Rapid Response
Squad (RRS), Aba North, On 22/09/2026, regarding the above-named suspect who
obtained an iPhone 17 Pro Max under the guise of payment on delivery since
April 2026, but failed to make payment.
"The matter escalated as the suspect allegedly resorted
to the use of thugs and threats against the seller.
"In furtherance of investigation, leveraging actionable
intelligence, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Abia State Police
Command, apprehended the suspect, who has made confessional statements
affirming the allegations. Subsequently, on 23/09/2026, a pump-action gun was
recovered from him.
"Investigation is ongoing, and efforts are in place to
apprehend other fleeing suspects of his gang The suspect will be charged to
court upon conclusion of investigations.

commitment to combating cultism, violent crimes, and illegal possession of
firearms.
“He urges members of the public as partners in crime
prevention, to remain law-abiding and continue to volunteer timely and useful
information to the Police.”
