Sunday, April 5, 2026 -Blessing Okoro has said that there was a "miscommunication" about her having stage 4 cancer.
The controversial internet personality granted an interview
to content creator Egungun in which she addressed her health and also
controversies about her fundraising efforts.
The interview was all over the place, with the
self-acclaimed relationship expert making conflicting statements that didn't
seem factual.
"Are you really in stage 4 or that is what you were
told?" Egungun asked.
"Maybe it's miscommunication because that was what I
was told,” Blessing said.
Blessing had been the one who came out on social media to
claim she has "stage 4" while crying and then showing her hair
falling off on camera. She later claimed in a separate video that she has
breast cancer.
However, when people started asking questions, including
whether she has started chemotherapy and she said she has not done
chemotherapy, Nigerians slammed her, asking how her hair could be falling off
when she has not started treatment.
Addressing that, Blessing said: “I have not started
chemotherapy. I just received my biopsy result. Initially, the lump was thought
to be non-cancerous, but later tests revealed it was cancerous.”
She further claimed that she just discovered in the end of
January this year that the lump was cancerous.
She also addressed questions about the fundraising for her
treatment.
Blessing had asked for financial assistance to fund her
cancer treatment and those who donated are now asking for their money back.
Egungun asked Blessing if it is true that she raised over one hundred million
Naira in donations and Blessing said that was not the case.
“Which kind hundred million? The money never reach hundred
million.” Blessing laughed, adding that it's just "thirteen million"
that she received in donations.
Blessing was asked if she doesn't think she owes Nigerians
an apology for claiming she has stage 4 cancer and she replied: "Apologise
for what? Who did I hurt?"
She continued: "I think I'm not a doctor and maybe i
just passed the message that a doctor gave to me. I don't know the stage I am
right now because I've ran all the tests, in few days time I'll go back to my
oncologist and they will be able to tell me the exact stage.”
Asked to prove that she has cancer by posting her result
online, Blessing replied: “I can't post my result online, it’s a personal
stuff.”
She added: “I just want to be sure about what I am doing.
I’m not a doctor; I’m only sharing the updates I receive from them.”
