Tuesday, April 28, 2026 - Veteran Nollywood actor and producer, Solomon Akiyesi, has d!ed. He passed away in his sleep on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN),
Abubakar Yakubu, confirmed his passing on Monday, April 27. He stated that the
actor d!ed in Abuja and his remains have been deposited at a mortuary while the
guild awaits further details from the family.
“Yes, it is
true. He died yesterday. He slept and did not wake up. His body is in the
morgue in Abuja, where the sad incident happened” Yakubu said
Akiyesi, who was a native of Akoko-Edo in Edo State, joined
the Nigerian film industry in the late 1990s. With a career spanning over two
decades, he featured in more than 100 productions, earning a reputation as a
versatile character actor.
His notable film credits include Marry Who You Love, Heart
of a Saint, Deadly Affair, and Pretty Liars.
