Friday, April 17, 2026 - A 42-year-old man identified as Alfa Funmilayo Fatai has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping an 8-year-old girl in Kara, Ibafo area of the state.
According to an anonymous source, the 42 years old suspect
was caught in an uncompleted building defiling the minor (name withheld).
When contacted on Thursday, police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi
Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigation is ongoing to unravel
all circumstances surrounding the incident.
Babaseyi stated that survivor was taken to OOUTH Sagamu for
medical examination and treatment.
He said, “Police detectives arrested the suspect, who
reportedly confessed to the crime.
“The victim was taken to OOUTH Sagamu for medical
examination and treatment. Investigations are ongoing and the case was
transferred to SCID Eleweran, Abeokuta, after preliminary findings.
“The gender unit is investigating and prosecution will
follow.”
