28-year-old woman arrested with cannabis in Niger State

Monday, April 20, 2026 - The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Rukayya Mohammed, with a bag of suspected cannabis.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, April 20, 2026.

“Earlier on 10th April 2026 at about 3.30 pm, Police patrol team attached to 'B' Div Kontangora while on stop and search around Kawo village, arrested one Rukayya Mohammed 28yrs of Barracks gate area of Kontagora with a polythene bag, containing some quantity of suspected cannabis,” the statement read.

“The suspect was investigated, confessed that she sells to members of the public and charged to court, while an effort to arrest her suppliers is ongoing.”
