“We call on the Kano State Government to immediately desist from intimidating
individuals who have every constitutional right to belong to any political
party of their choice,” he said.
Karaye alleged that the government, which came to power on the NNPP platform
before parting ways with the party, had begun targeting some of its members.
According to him, the governor withdrew Hajj seats earlier allocated to certain NNPP members, including former commissioners, advisers and party leaders across the state.

He further alleged that former government officials were being pressured to
return vehicles allocated to them during their tenure, noting that the vehicles
formed part of their consolidated benefits while in office.
The party cautioned that political activities should be conducted with decorum
and mutual respect, stressing that political offices are not permanent.
Karaye also called on the government to uphold the right to freedom of association as guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
