Sunday, January 18, 2026 - A 46-year-old prison officer has been jailed after being caught on her own body worn camera performing a s3x act on an inmate at HMP Highpoint in Stradishall, Suffolk.
Rebecca Pinckard earlier pleaded guilty to misconduct in a
public office. The incident was discovered in July 2024 when footage from her
device showed her and prisoner Erion Nakdi, 42, together inside a store
cupboard, according to MailOnline.
Cambridge Crown Court was told another prison officer made
the discovery during routine duties. Pinckard, from Cambridgeshire, was
sentenced on Friday, January 16, to 32 weeks in custody.
Court documents said the inappropriate contact occurred
between April 9 and July 6, 2024. In addition to the encounter inside the
prison, Pinckard was said to have sent a Moonpig card to Nakdi to “cheer him
up” during personal issues, and did not report explicit social media videos
allegedly sent by Nakdi from his cel
The court heard Pinckard had previously been cautioned for
being “overfamiliar” with inmates and for giving out “cakes and sweets”.
Judge Cartin said she had been caught “because of a clumsy
mistake” made while evidence was being gathered, adding that “the offence
wasn’t a one-off – it went on for a number of months and the card was sent”. He
said her behaviour “diminishes the public confidence in the criminal justice
system”.
Pinckard’s defence denied it was a relationship and
described it as a “moment of madness”, adding she had been experiencing a
“difficult” period following the end of a long-term relationship.
Nakdi, who admitted possession of a mobile phone in prison,
was sentenced to 10 months in addition to his existing term. He was previously
jailed for more than 16 years in 2022 for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
