Sunday, November 23, 2025 - Human rights activist and co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has decried the recent insecurity ravaging Nigeria.
In a post on her verified X handle on Friday, Yesufu said it
was no longer time for propaganda, stressing that Nigeria is under siege.
“This is no longer the time for propaganda. Nigeria is under
siege. Are our children being abducted to be used as human shields? There are
coordinated attacks across Nigeria. Where is the coordinated response?
“Where is the National Assembly? They are supposed to be the
people’s voices! They are supposed to be the activists in government! What are
they doing about the current spate of attacks in the country?
“Have they called for an inquiry? Are they holding the
executive accountable? Are they asking how the citizens are being protected,”
she asked.
Her comment comes after scores of school children were
recently abducted from schools in Kebbi and Niger States respectively.
The terrorists in the early hours of Friday abducted
students and staff from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in
Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
