Friday, August 1, 2025 - A 46-year-old man, Nelson Letsoalo was sentenced for life imprisonment for r3ping a 12-year-old girl in South Africa.
The Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual
Offenses (FCS) Unit secured this life term imprisonment on Thursday, July 31,
2025.
According to the South African Police Service, the minor
victim was visiting her grandmother in the Khapamadi Section under Bolobedu
policing area when she gave her money to purchase some goodies.
The victim went to a shop that was next to the tavern and
Letsoalo who was known by the victim as a cleaner called her to come inside the
tavern.
On her arrival, the accused forced the victim to lay
on the floor and she was suddenly r3ped. Afterwards, Letsoalo threatened the
victim with d3ath if she told anyone about the r3pe incident.
Following the ordeal, the victim was psychologically
affected by the r3pe incident until she informed her mother about it on 04
January 2020. The duo rushed to the local police and a r3pe case was opened at
the premise upon their arrival.
The next day on 05 January 2020, Nelson Letsoalo was
arrested at his residence in Kgapane location and the matter was immediately
transferred to Tzaneen FCS. Sergeant Auldah Tintswalo Vukeya was assigned for
further investigations.
The accused made numerous court appearances until he was
granted R1000.00 bail.
Through sterling investigative abilities, Sergeant Vukeya
managed to ensure that Nelson Letsoalo was found guilty for rape of a minor
victim and secured one life term imprisonment against him on Thursday 31 July
2025 at Tzaneen Regional court.

Hadebe has applauded the court outcome for permanently removing criminals who
commit horrendous acts such as Nelson Letsoalo.
