Wrestling legend JIM ROSS says he's cancer-free

Thursday, June 26, 2025 - Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross has announced he is officially cancer-free following surgery last month to treat colon cancer. The 73-year-old AEW broadcaster shared the news on his "Grilling JR" podcast, expressing relief and optimism as he looks forward to returning to work.

“The colon cancer is gone, which I’m very happy to say,” Ross revealed, according to Wrestling News. He added that he’s feeling significantly better and has set his sights on making a return to the microphone at AEW’s upcoming “All In” event.

“Yeah, I’m tired of sitting at home, and I’m excited about the opportunities that await,” Ross said. “I am feeling better.”

Ross also took time to publicly thank AEW president Tony Khan for his support during the cancer battle. “Tony Khan was amazingly wonderful throughout this whole process,” Ross said. “He supported me wholeheartedly and I really do appreciate that. That’s the way a boss should act — take care of your people. And Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me.”

With decades of experience and a storied career in professional wrestling, Ross has faced several health challenges in the past, but he vowed to beat cancer, and has now kept that promise. His fans and the wrestling community have welcomed the good news with celebration and encouragement as he prepares for his next chapter in the ring-side booth.
