Monday, May 26, 2025 - Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested one Endurance Oviojie, 22, during a raid for armed robbers, kidnappers, and cultists in a hotel in Benin City.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Moses Yamu,
disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday in Benin City.
Yamu said while the suspect was arrested, four other
suspects later identified as Clinton, Jeff, Mike, and Emmanuel alias Slim
Khalifa surnames yet unknown escaped through the fence to neighboring compounds
He said the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Anti
Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Unit of the State Criminal
Investigations Department (SCID) during the raid off Country Home Road Benin
City on May 13, 2025.
He listed items recovered during the raid to include one
English Beretta pistol, one locally fabricated pistol, one ammunition, 18 live
cartridges, five handsets of various makes, one electronic tablet, charms, and
illicit drugs.
Others are four unregistered Mercedes-Benz vehicles namely
one black C350, one gray C300, one gray GLA 250, and one red GLE 350.
The Command’s spokesman said the arrested suspect has been
charged to court for prosecution while the manhunt for the fleeing members of
the gang continues.
