Monday, May 26, 2025 - Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) Yobe State Command, have intercepted 55 parcels of Colorado weighing 2kg.
The interception was made by the operatives during a
stop-and-search operation conducted along Potiskum–Damaturu road.
This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the
NDLEA’s Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
The statement said a 22-year-old suspect, Adum Muhammed, was
also arrested while attempting to smuggle the prohibited items into the
Republic of Chad through Ngamboru Ngala border town in Borno State.
The arrest was among several made by the operatives of the
anti-narcotic agency within the week as part of the War Against Drug Abuse
(WADA) across the country.
According to the statement, the Chairman/Chief Executive
Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised all the commands
across the country for ensuring a fair balance between drug supply reduction
and drug demand reduction efforts.
