Wednesday, April 16, 2025 - A suspected ‘one chance’ gang
reportedly pushed a 53-year-old trader, Alhaji Usman Mani, out of their
speeding car after dispossessing him of N700,000 cash near Government Secondary
School (GSS) Yangoji, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
The victim, who resides in Unguwar Sabon-Tasha in the Abaji
Area Council, while narrating the incident to the Daily Trust, said it happened
around 6:25pm on Saturday, April 13, 2025 when he boarded a vehicle at the
Wazobia Park in Gwagwalada, coming to Abaji.
He said he left Tungan Maje market, where he went to sell
some goods and boarded the vehicle to Gwagwalada.
Mani said he boarded another vehicle from the Wazobia Park
to Abaji, when he fell into the hands of the one chance syndicate.
“There were three people sitting at the back while one
person was in the front, including two females. I sat at the back, making it
four people," he said.
‘’Shortly before a sharp bend near the GSS Yangoji, a female
passenger complained that she was tightly squeezed and the driver stopped and
asked me to come and sit in front."
Mani said that immediately he alighted and wanted to join
the front seat, one of the occupants shoved him out of the vehicle, and the
driver zoomed off with his bag containing N700,000 cash.
He said he sustained bruises in the process, adding that a driver of another vehicle, who identified him, stopped and gave him a free ride to Abaji
