Sunday, January 12, 2025 - The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bauchi State Command has arrested have arrested a 20-year-old man, Ibrahim Saudiq, for allegedly r3ping a 12-year-old girl in Misau Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesman Saminu J Yusuf
disclosed this in a statement on January 9, 2025, when he paraded the Saudiq
alongside nine other suspects arrested for vandalism and theft in the
state.
According to him, the suspect allegedly lured
the victim to an uncompleted building and forcefully had carnal knowledge of
her.
“On the 27th Dec, 2024, at Misau local
government, Ibrahim Saudiq, male , 20yrs from Misau was arrested by NSCDC
personnel for forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 12-year-old girl named
Aisha Muda from Misau, in an uncompleted building,” he said.
Similarly, seven suspected vandals were
arrested at zaranda village in Toro local government, on 24th Dec, 2024 in the
process of vandalising the old Nitel tower.
The suspects include Hassan Sadiq, male, 31
yrs, Muhammed Sani, male,32 yrs, Jamiu Umar, male, 45yrs, Zilkifulu Muhammed,
male, 30yrs, Sani Muhammed, male, 48yrs, Aliyu Manga, male, 48yrs, fand
Mohammad Maigari Muhammed, male, 45yrs, all from Bauchi.
Items such as six oxyacetylene gas cylinders
, perimeter fencing wire mesh and part of vandalised tower were recovered.
"On the 31st Dec, 2024, at Alkabir
Global Investment Filling Station in Kajutu Turum area of Bauchi metropolis,
two suspects namely Idris Musa, male 24 yrs from Bauchi and Muhammed Muhammed
male, 24yrs, from Bauchi were apprehended for stealing 2 drums that powered
Lister generator and these items were recovered.
"The State Commandant, Oloyede Nelson
Oyerinde while addressing the gentlemen of the press, commends his personnel
for their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructures.
"He reiterated that the corps resolves
to get rid of vandalism and warned perpetrators to desist or face legal
consequences.
"He added that all the suspects
confessed to have committed the crimes and they will be prosecuted in
accordance with the law at the conclusion of the investigation.
“He urged Bauchi state residents to assist
the corps with vital information that can help fight against vandalism and
other crimes.”
