Tuesday, September 29, 2026 - Miss Danielle Adewusi of Lagos State has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2026.
Adewusi defeated 19 other contestants at the pageant’s grand
finale, which was held on Sunday, September 27, at Balmoral Hall, Federal
Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the organiser, Silverbird, Adewusi’s
“confidence, intelligence, elegance and commitment to social impact” impressed
the judges before she secured the crown after the final question-and-answer
session.
The President of the Silverbird Group and National Director
of Miss Universe Nigeria, Guy Murray-Bruce, crowned Adewusi at the end of the
ceremony.
Following her win, Adewusi will represent Nigeria at the
75th Miss Universe Festival scheduled for November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Top 10 contestants were Danielle Adewusi of Lagos, Anita
Osikhena of Edo, Myya Jones of Cross River, Melissa Toghanro of Delta,
Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti, Benedicta Iferike of Abuja, Chidinma Oluku of
Abia, Precious Chinah of Rivers, Eno Idungafa of Akwa Ibom, and Edidiong
Udoidua of Ebonyi
While Danielle Adewusi was crowned winner, Anita
Osikhena, Myya Jones, Oluwafunmibi Ajaja, and Melissa Toghanro made the top 4.
Osikhena also won the Pitch Your Dream Competition,
receiving ₦1m from Yolo Island and a two-night, all-expenses-paid stay at Yolo
Island Beach Resort.
She also won the Best Advocacy Project award, taking home
₦500,000 and a one-year supply of Golden Penny products.
