Saturday, September 5, 2026 - A 52-year-old farmer, Ajibade Kehinde, has been found d£ad on his cocoa plantation at Alani Camp, near Supare in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Kehinde left home for the farm on Thursday, September 3,
2026, but failed to return home.
His concerned family members and other residents began
searching for him.
His lifeless body was later discovered along a road leading
to the farm.
Sources familiar with the incident suspected that the farmer
may have been attacked by criminals believed to be operating within the area,
per DailyTrust.
However, some of his harvested produce were reportedly found
at the scene, raising uncertainty over the motive behind the attack and whether
any items were stolen.
Police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer,
visited the location after the discovery and evacuated the body to Iwaro
General Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed him de@d.
The corpse was subsequently deposited in the hospital’s
mortuary for an autopsy, while detectives commenced an investigation to
determine the circumstances surrounding the d£ath.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public
Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command had begun a thorough
investigation into the case.
He assured residents that the police would explore all
available leads to uncover what transpired and bring anyone connected to the
