Friday, July 3, 2026 -The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four-armed robbery suspects in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, possession of dangerous weapons, criminal trespass and robbery at the Corpers’ Lodge, Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, Yola.
In a statement issued on Friday, the command’s spokesman,
Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects are Elkana Ishaya, 17, of Clarck Quarters,
Jimeta; Mubarak Abubakar, 22, of Galadima Street, Jimeta; Musa Umar, 30, of
Samunaka; and Kabiru Tanko, 20, of Galadima Street, Jimeta.
“The incident occurred on 27th June, 2026, at the Corpers’
Lodge situated within Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, where the suspects, armed
with dangerous weapons, criminally trespassed into the lodge and robbed about
thirty-six (36) corps members of their valuables, including mobile phones.
“Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives attached to
Karewa Area Command immediately commenced investigation, which led to the
arrest of the four suspects and recovery of four (4) mobile phones stolen from
the victims,” Nguroje said.
The statement disclosed that the investigation is ongoing to
recover more stolen phones and arrest other members of the gang still at large.
It added that the suspects would be charged to court after
the investigation is completed.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Kabir
Hassan, reassured members of the public, particularly corps members, of the
command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property.
The CP further urged residents to promptly report suspicious
persons and movements to the nearest police station.
