Wednesday, July 1, 2026 - The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has said that no force on earth would stop revolution in Nigeria.
Sowore spoke shortly after he was granted a N200 million
bail by an Abuja Federal High Court, stating that the authorities have always
been after his passport.
The human rights activist was returned to the Kuje
Correctional Centre until he perfects the conditions for his release.
Justice Mohammed Umar admitted Sowore to bail under stringent conditions,
which require two sureties including a traditional ruler from his home
community and an Abuja property owner, alongside an order to deposit his
international passport.
The activist has been in custody since June 22, 2026,
following his arraignment and prosecution for allegedly referring to President
Bola Tinubu as a criminal.
“There is no force on earth that can stop this revolution.
We warned them, but they didn’t listen. I was granted N200 million bail. They
have always been after my passport. When we get to that bridge, we will cross
it,” he said.
