Tuesday, June 30, 2026 - Nigerian youths have
stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja demanding immediate release of the
African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.
The protesters chant as they gather at the court premises on
Tuesday before Sowore’s court proceedings.
Recall that the court had ordered the remand of Sowore in
Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja.
The Court fixed June 30, 2026 (today) for ruling on an
application by Sowore, seeking the restoration of his bail and the setting
aside of a bench warrant issued against him.
Justice Mohammed Umar adjourned the matter after parties
adopted their processes in the application.
The protesters were heard singing, “Free Sowore now. We want
a better Nigeria.”
They also told the security officers at the court entrance
to be good citizens, saying they are looking for better Nigeria that their
children would enjoy.
