"Child thief! Child thief!" Moment suspected child trafficker is confronted at Onitsha hospital after sneaking in with nurses' uniform (VIDEO)

Thursday, June 25, 2026 - A woman has been arrested after she entered a hospital ward with a nurse's uniform, allegedly with the aim of kidnapping a newborn baby. 

The incident occurred at Divine Mercy Hospital, Awada, Onitsha, Anambra. 

The woman, alleged to be in the habit of going to hospitals to take children, arrived at the hospital with a nurse's uniform in a polythene bag. 

Hospital staff started filming her after her actions raised suspicion. 

In the video, a doctor, wearing a yellow stripped shirt, is seen asking the alleged kidnapper what her mission at the hospital was, but she could not give a reasonable answer. 

"Your cup is full," hospital staff screamed at her. 

"Child thief," others added. 

A new mum whose baby the woman allegedly tried to steal spoke up.
