Wednesday, May 6, 2026 - A school director in Arkansas has been sentenced to jail after admitting to running what authorities described as a “fight club” involving children.
Mary Tracy Morrison, owner of The Delta Institute for the
Developing Brain, was ordered to serve 30 days in jail following her arrest in
2025.
According to reports, investigators reviewed video footage
showing a disturbing incident where a child was placed in the middle of a group
of other children. Authorities said Morrison instructed the group to assault
the child and encouraged the behaviour.
She allegedly told the other children to hit the victim with
an object and verbally berated the child while the incident unfolded. After the
attack, Morrison reportedly instructed the victim to apologise to the group and
warned everyone involved not to speak about what had happened.
Morrison later pleaded guilty to one count of permitting child abuse and
four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. A judge sentenced
her to 30 days in jail, followed by 120 days of house arrest with electronic
monitoring, and nine years of probation.
In addition, she has been barred from working with children in any
professional capacity and must surrender her occupational therapy licence.
Three other staff members, Michael Bean, Kristin Bell, and Kathrine Lipscomb —
have also been arrested in connection with the case.
