Man kills his brother and sister-in-law in Kebbi

Monday, May 11, 2026 - The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Idrisu Musa, for the m8rder of his brother, Muhammed Haruna and sister-in-law, Habiba, in Kimba District, Jega Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Bashir Usman, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, May 9, 2026, said the suspect intimidated the couple with a cutlass on several occasions before they were k!lled.

“The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested Idrisu Musa, 25, in connection with the m8rder of his elder brother Muhammed Haruna, and his wife Habiba Muhammed,” the statement read. 

"The couple was attacked with a cutlass while asleep at about 0515 hours on 9th May 2026 in Asarara Village, Kimba District, Jega Local Government Area. Both d!ed from their injuries.

"Substantial and implicating evidence has been recovered linking the suspect to the crime. The suspect had reportedly intimidated the couple with a cutlass on several prior occasions.

"The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

“The Command assures the public that justice will be pursued diligently.”
