Thursday, May 14, 2026 - Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced minor changes to his cabinet, with a newly appointed commissioner, Leader Leneke, heading the Ministry of Information.
Two commissioners swapped portfolios, as Sali Idris moved
from the Ministry of Livestock to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Professor
David Jatau took over the Ministry of Livestock from Agriculture.
Muhammad Chubado, former Commissioner for Energy
Development, is now Commissioner for Health and Human Services.
In the interim, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Usman
Lamurde, will oversee the Ministry of Livestock pending the return of Jatau,
who is on sick leave.
Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who
announced the cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday evening, said Leader
Leneke was asked to take charge of the Ministry of Information and Strategy
following the resignation of James Iliya, who is seeking nomination to contest
for the Demsa House of Assembly seat.
