Tuesday, May 12, 2026 - Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has officially secured the Premier League Golden Glove award for the 2025/26 season, marking his third consecutive win since joining the club.
Raya clinched the award outright following Arsenal’s 1-0
victory over West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, where his 18th clean
sheet of the campaign put the trophy beyond the reach of his competitors. His
nearest challenger, Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, currently sits on
14 clean sheets.
With Manchester City only having three league games
remaining, the Italian international can no longer surpass or equal Raya’s
tally.
By winning the award for the third year in a row, Raya joins
an elite group of goalkeepers who have achieved a "hat-trick" of
Golden Gloves. He is only the fourth player in Premier League history to do so,
following in the footsteps of: Pepe Reina (Liverpool, 2006–2008) Joe Hart
(Manchester City, 2011–2013) Ederson (Manchester City, 2020–2022).
The Spaniard has now won the Golden Glove in every season he
has played for Arsenal since his 2023 move from Brentford. He won his first in
2023/24 with 14 clean sheets and shared his second in 2024/25 with Nottingham
Forest’s Matz Sels.
Raya's record-breaking clean sheet was far from a quiet
afternoon. He played a pivotal role in the win over West Ham, making several
crucial saves—most notably a last-ditch stop against Matheus Fernandes just
before Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for the Gunners.
The match ended in dramatic fashion when a late West Ham
equalizer was disallowed after a VAR review determined that Raya had been
fouled by Pablo in the buildup.
“When you talk about magic moments, this is certainly one of
the most needed moments as well to pull off with that save. He [Raya] was
incredible,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said after the match.
Raya is now just one Golden Glove award away from matching
the all-time record of four, currently held by Petr Cech and Joe Hart.
