Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Abia State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mrs Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko has officially declared her intention to run for the Obingwa West State House of Assembly.
She outlined her motivations for seeking the position to
include delivering quality representation for the people of Obingwa West,
promoting protection and economic empowerment, and advancing women’s liberation
and emancipation.
Addressing political stakeholders and the people of Obingwa,
friends and associates in her hometown of Ossah Ukwu, on Saturday, Onwubiko
emphasised that the State House of Assembly is not a place for “jamboree, but a
forum for enacting purposeful laws that ensure the well-being of citizens”.
The ABSAA DG who highlighted her extensive experience in
academics, politics, public and private sectors, said she possesses the
necessary qualifications to represent her constituency effectively.
She said, “For over 30 years, I have worked diligently to
acquire corporate experience, academic qualifications, and political sagacity
required for the role I now seek.”
She assured the crowd of her principled character, and
consistent integrity in all her dealings, as well as professional engagements.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Mayor of Obingwa
Local Government Area, Maxwell Nwadike, the Commissioner for Petroleum, Mr.
Joel Ogbonna, the state Labour Party Chairman, Peter Chigozie Azubuike, and
others commended her, describing her as the most qualified candidate for the
position.
