Sunday, April 5, 2026 -Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist and recovered a rifle during a patrol in Zamfara State.
The development was made known in a post shared on X on
Saturday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation was carried out on
April 3 at about 11:30 am by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA deployed at the
Forward Operating Base in Kurya, Gusau Local Government Area.
The suspect was arrested at Tungan Haki village during a
routine patrol by troops of the 1 Brigade Combat Team.
Security sources said the suspect was found with an AK-47
rifle. The weapon was loaded with a magazine containing 13 rounds of 7.62mm
ammunition.
The suspect and the recovered rifle are currently in
military custody for further investigation.
