Thursday, April 23, 2026 - A high school coach is facing multiple s£x crime charges related to s£xual contact with a student after her abrupt resignation.
According to WBMA, former Cold Springs High School
basketball coach Paige Adams, 35, was arrested on Tuesday, April 22,
after she allegedly engaged in s£xual activities with a student.
Adams is facing multiple charges, including one count of a
school employee engaging in a s£x act or deviant s£xual intercourse with a
student, one count of a school employee having s£xual contact with a student
under the age of 19, and 30 counts of a school employee distributing obscene
material to a student.
The arrest follows an earlier personnel action by the
Cullman County Board of Education. During a special-called meeting on March 25,
the board accepted Adams’ resignation.
Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette
gave the following statement at the time of Adams’ resignation:
“This is the first formal complaint I have received
regarding this employee. As soon as the concern was brought forward, an
investigation was immediately initiated. The employee chose to resign at that
time. In accordance with standard procedure, all CCBOE materials were returned,
and she was escorted from school property. The matter has been referred to the
appropriate authorities, and I promptly called a board meeting to approve her
resignation. Our sole focus is protecting the students of Cullman County Schools.
We are going to do what is right, as we always have.”
