Wednesday, April 22, 2026 - Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has said that he is no longer marrying off any of his autistic children after his second attempt sparked calls for intervention.
The founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) previously
sought a paid able-bodied wife for his autistic foster son Aboy Chibuzor. The
role came with monetary and material benefits and he soon found a woman who
agreed to marry Chibuzor.
However, many argued that this was tantamount to abuse
because Aboy is non-berbal, hence can't give consent.
Later, the pastor announced that he was seeking a husband
for his autistic adopted daughter, 21-year-old Chiemeka Chibuzor.
The move sparked outrage again, with many calling on
concerned authorities to intervene. They added that autistic people need
medical help, not marriage which can subject them to abuse.
Apostle Chibuzor later announced that the wedding of his
adopted daughter has been canceled.
Today, April 21, he announced that he will no longer marry
off any of his autistic foster kids, rather, he would get doctors for
them.
He wrote: "Future marriage plans for my autism children
suspended PERMANENTLY. Special doctors shall be employed for them."
