Monday, March, 9 2026 - Former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has said that the United States’ Senate and Congress appeared to be powerless before President Donald Trump where their consent is needed.
Sani said this in a statement posted via his verified X
handle on Sunday, while reacting to the ongoing US/Israel hostility with Iran
Tensions started February 28, when the United States and its
ally, Israel launched air strikes on Iran resulting in the death of Iranian
Supreme Leader and other notable top government officials.
Airing his own opinion, the former lawmaker said, “The US
Senate and Congress are ignored by the President on matters where their consent
is needed.
“They appeared powerless, and now resorted to the Social
Media to express their outrage and anger.
“When will the next team of those lawmakers visit the next
third World country and lecture them about Democracy, the Constitution, rule of
law and freedom?”
