Friday, March, 13 2026 - Ray J has accused Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner of lying about their involvement in the release of the infamous tape that brought them global attention.
In comments reported by TMZ, Ray J claimed Kim and Kris had
“completely lied about everything” in recent legal declarations denying
involvement in the tape’s release. According to Ray J, he personally attended a
meeting with Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and executives from Vivid
Entertainment, the company that distributed the tape, to discuss a deal related
to the footage.
He alleged that both he and Kardashian were paid $400,000
each for three tapes that were recorded, two filmed in Cabo and another in
Santa Barbara.
Ray J further claimed that Kris Jenner encouraged the Santa
Barbara recording to be made “dirtier”, an allegation that contradicts the
Kardashians’ long-standing claims that they had no role in the tape’s release.
The singer said the situation has continued to affect his
reputation and expressed concern about how the narrative could impact his
children. He said he now has a son and daughter and does not want them growing
up believing that he intentionally harmed someone or released explicit content
in a malicious way.
The dispute comes amid an ongoing legal battle between the
parties. In October, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner filed a lawsuit accusing
Ray J of defamation, while Ray J responded with a countersuit alleging they
violated a settlement agreement that prohibited any party from discussing the
tape publicly.
Ray J has also received public support from his mother,
Sonja Norwood, who defended him on social media and questioned who was
responsible for the tape’s release if Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were not
involved.
