Monday, March, 9 2026 - A man died in Los Angeles on Friday, March 6 after severely injuring himself in an incident that police are investigating.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers
received a call around 3:40 a.m. reporting that a man was harming himself in
the downtown area of the city. When officers arrived at the scene, they set up
a white tent to shield the body from public view while emergency personnel
responded.
Video recorded at the location showed blood on the sidewalk
near where the incident occurred. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the man
had inflicted multiple serious injuries on himself.
Authorities said the man cut off his genitalia, injured his
throat and stabbed himself with a sharp object. Investigators also believe he
attempted to sever one of his arms.
Officials have not yet determined what instrument was used
or the circumstances that led to the incident. Police said the motive behind
the act remains unknown and it is unclear whether the man was under the
influence of drugs or experiencing a mental health crisis at the time.
