Tuesday, March, 24 2026 - A video has gone viral showing acclaimed actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde seemingly hesitating to engage with a young presenter who asked her to introduce herself.
The incident took place at the 46th Miss Nigeria patrons and
board dinner held in Lagos on Sunday, where Omotola was among top dignitaries
in attendance.
In the circulating clip, the visibly inexperienced presenter
approached the 48-year-old Nollywood star actress during a live segment and
said, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live
with…?”
Seemingly caught off guard, Omotola paused before
questioning his approach.
“You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are
not ready,” she responded.
The presenter clarified that he knew her identity and only
wanted to mention her name for the audience.
“I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know
who I am with,” he said to which Omotola responded “Why should I let
fans know me? I am tired”.
The Nollywood star, who recently celebrated her 30th wedding
anniversary with Matthew Ekeinde, then attempted to walk away, while the
presenter continued pleading with her as the interview reportedly went on
briefly.
