RITA EDOCHIE calls out Anambra governor after pipe water that was restored during his re-election campaign suddenly stopped working

Monday, February 9, 2026 -Actress Rita Edochie has called out Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo, over the unavailability of pipeborne water in the state. 

In a post shared on Instagram, Rita mentioned that during the campaign for Governor Soludo's re-election, he promised to restore pipeborne water in the state and true to his word, Water immediately started flowing from the taps in the state, however. as soon as he won the election, the water stopped flowing. She wrote

The campaign songs and promises are gone with the wind.

Can we possibly see our pipe borne water run?

A lot of people believe that politicians are men of many words that they speak from both sides of the mouth.

I am beginning to agree with them, judging, from what i have seen in Nigerian politics. Though some may say that it is not all the politicians, but a good number of them.

It is debatable but where a greater percentage of them fall within those who speak from both sides of the mouth it becomes worrisome. Political advisers, in most cases, also have a share of this anomaly by not calling the attention of their principals.

In Anambra state, during the last campaign that brought back the incumbent, professor Charles Soludo, we were enjoying pipe bourne water, it helped to ease off the sufferings of the residence of Onitsha who before then were relying on the services of water borehole suppliers. Today we are back to square one, the taps are dried up, the campaign songs and promises are gone with the wind, the residents of Onitsha have now resorted to prayers hoping that the taps will function someday. From a little research i made , it's like there are some little things his excellency has to do for the taps to start functioning once more, this allegedly has also been brought to his notice, waiting for his actions.

I plead on behalf of the residents of Onitsha, that his excellency governor Charles Soludo should re-enact the campaign magic so that the taps should become functional once more. We are suffering, no steady power supply, and no pipe borne water, these are essential commodities that helps to sustain life. Meanwhile, let's continue with our prayers
