Friday, February 6, 2026 - A woman suspected of driving under the influence was taken into police custody on Wednesday night after leading officers on a dangerous vehicle pursuit through Los Angeles, United States of America, authorities said.
The incident followed what police described as a reckless
and prolonged chase through busy streets, during which the driver allegedly ran
red lights, made abrupt U-turns in traffic and took evasive actions in an
apparent attempt to avoid arrest.
Footage broadcast by FOX 11 Los Angeles showed the pursuit
ending in a crowded parking lot, where the suspect brought her vehicle to a
stop after boxing herself in among parked cars.
Rather than attempting to flee on foot or force her way out
of the area, the woman exited her vehicle and began dancing around it, drawing
attention from onlookers as police units closed in.
The video shows the suspect moving around the car in what
appeared to be an improvised dance, moments before officers approached and
ordered her to the ground.
She then lay flat on the pavement with her hands behind her
back and was taken into custody without further incident. According to reports
by local station KTTV-TV, the woman, whose identity has not been released, was
arrested at the scene.
Authorities said no formal charges had been announced as of
Thursday, February 5, and the case remains under review. Police did not report
any injuries resulting from the pursuit.
