Tuesday, February 10, 2026 - A middle-aged man identified simply as Iseleto has fled the Osubi community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State after allegedly stabbing his 23-year-old son, Miracle, to death during a family dispute on Sunday.
Residents said the suspect attacked the young man in a
nearby bush and immediately escaped, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.
According to punch, the tragedy was linked to ongoing
tension within the household. Sources said Miracle had rented a separate
apartment for his father’s wife and the suspect in an effort to restore peace
in the family, a move that reportedly angered his father.
The suspect was said to have deceived and lured the deceased
to the bush, where he allegedly stabbed him several times with a dagger.
Despite the injuries, Miracle reportedly struggled out of
the bush to the roadside, where passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital. He
was said to have narrated how his father tricked and stabbed him before he
later died.
Sources further claimed that after fleeing, the suspect
allegedly admitted to committing the crime during a phone call with his
stepdaughter and also threatened to kill his wife and stepdaughter for leaving
the marital home.
Some residents described the suspect as violent and
frequently intoxicated.
“The man is a drunkard and always beats his wife whenever he
gets drunk. He causes trouble in the house almost every time,” one resident
said.
When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations
Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
“Confirmed. The suspect is at large,” he said
