Lagos driver takes off with employer's car just weeks into the job

Wednesday, February 11, 2026 - A driver identified as Olunowo Olumide Ogunyemi has allegedly absconded with his employer's Lexus GX460, with registration number KJA 123 CX, belonging to his employer, just three weeks into the job.

According to an SOS message released by the vehicle owner, Ogunyemi, 48, whose last address is 6, Engineer Olaitan Street, Iyana Ipaja, was employed as a driver last month.

He reportedly absconded with the car last week while his boss made a brief stop to visit a friend in the Lekki area of Lagos.

Ogunyemi, who hails from Odogbolu in Ogun State, has reportedly been on the run since the incident. 

"Please if you encounter him, kindly inform the nearest police station. We are asking that this information be shared widely across all platforms, groups, and social media to prevent others from falling victim to the same situation,” the owner said.

The owner urged anyone with credible information on his whereabouts to contact the nearest police division.
