Thursday, February 12, 2026 - Armed bandits on Wednesday launched another fresh attack on Oba Isin in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Another forest guard was killed in the attack, while his
wife was abducted.
The late forest guard becomes the second casualty of armed
bandits attack after Samuel Omotosho Olawuyi, who lost his life at Koro town
during the recent terrorists attack on the community in Ekiti Local Government
Area of the state.
The Oba community was reportedly attacked by armed bandits,
with heavy gunfire reported across parts of the town amid military operations
to clear bandits in the Kwara South Senatorial District of the state.
Residents say the sound of sustained gunshots threw the
community into panic and confusion as people scampered for safety.
The attack, which began about 8p.m, left many fleeing their
homes, while others remained trapped indoors.
