Tuesday, January 6, 2026 - A United States lawmaker, Rep. Riley M. Moore, who represents Virginia’s Second District in Congress, has declared that the US will remain resolute in defending Nigerian Christians.
Moore made the statement during an interview with Newsmax
while reacting to a recent threat allegedly issued by ISIS terrorists,
demanding that Christians choose between conversion to Islam or death.
According to the lawmaker, the United States, under the
leadership of President Donald Trump, will continue to support Nigeria with the
necessary military equipment to combat terrorism.
“ISIS recently released a statement saying Christians in
Nigeria must either convert or die,” Moore said.
“We will never back down from supporting our brothers and
sisters in Christ, and I am encouraged that the Nigerian government is working
in coordination and cooperation with President Trump to defeat these radical
Islamic terrorists,” he added.
Moore also referenced a recent US military operation,
recalling that American forces reportedly struck terrorist hideouts in Sokoto
State on Christmas night using about 12 Tomahawk missiles.
