Saturday, January 10, 2026 - The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in Mowe over alleged conspiracy and unlawful possession of a human skull.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by
the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, who said the
suspects were apprehended on January 8, 2026.
“The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects
in Mowe for conspiracy and unlawful possession of a human skull on January 8,
2026,” Oluseyi said.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspects have been

“The suspects have been transferred to SCIID, Eleweran,
Abeokuta, for further investigation,” he added.
A trader around the vicinity where the incident occurred,
who pleaded anonymity, had earlier hinted to this correspondent about the
incident.
“They perpetrated the crime elsewhere, I believe, but were
traced to the area where they live,” the trader said.
Meanwhile, the police said investigations were ongoing to
determine the source of the skull and the extent of the suspects’ involvement
in the alleged crime.
The Command on August 2025 commenced the prosecution of
two men, Kadir Owolabi and Jamiu Yisa, after they were caught with three human
skulls in the Ijebu area of the state.
Owolabi was intercepted while riding a motorcycle along the
Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway at the Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.
Preliminary investigation led detectives to arrest
53-year-old Yisa behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat.
