Thursday, January 8, 2026 -The family of 32-year-old veterinarian Abdul-Quadri Afolami, who has been reported missing, is appealing to the public for help in locating him.
Afolami reportedly disappeared after leaving his home in
Abeokuta, Ogun State, for the Berger area of Lagos State on Sunday, December
28, 2025.
Afolami, described as tall, fair-complexioned, and skinny,
set out for Lagos that day but never arrived at his destination.
The missing veterinarian, who lives with his parents in
Abeokuta, was said to have informed relatives of his intention to travel to
Berger before leaving home, but all efforts to reach him afterwards proved
abortive.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, his uncle, Dimeji
Atinuke, said the family became alarmed when repeated calls to Afolami’s phone
went unanswered hours after he left.
Atinuke said, “We waited till evening and tried calling him
several times, but his phone was not connecting. That was when we knew
something was wrong.”
He disclosed that the family reported the matter to the
police shortly after Afolami was declared missing, adding that security
operatives had since been involved in efforts to locate him.
“The police have been informed and they are on the matter,
but there has been no progress so far in tracking or tracing him,” the uncle
stated.
According to him, no ransom demand or message has been
received from anyone since Afolami’s disappearance, further deepening the
family’s anxiety.
“There has been no positive call or message to confirm his
safety. Nobody has contacted us, and that is what is most worrying,” he added.
The family appealed to members of the public who may have
seen Afolami or have any useful information regarding his whereabouts to report
to the nearest police station or contact the family, noting that every lead
could be crucial to finding him.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to locate
Afolami had remained unsuccessful, while his relatives continued to hope for
his safe return
