Tuesday, January 27, 2026 - Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed a well-known community businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago during a night attack in Tiga town, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.
The development was contained in a post shared on X on
Tuesday by security analyst, Bakatsine.
According to Bakatsine, the attackers invaded Tiga town late
at night and stormed the victim’s shop, where he was shot dead.
The gunmen were said to have carted away valuables from the
shop before fleeing the area.
“Last night, gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded Tiga
town in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State. During the attack, they
killed a well-known community businessman, Alhaji Habibu Mai Shago, in his shop
and carted away valuables before fleeing the area.
“This tragic incident has once again thrown the spotlight on
the worsening security situation in the region.
“How long will the continued escalation of banditry in
Nigeria’s northwest persist, and what concrete steps are being taken to protect
lives and livelihoods?”Bakatsine wrote.
