Friday, January 16, 2026 - Ghana’s social media space is buzzing
after a disturbing video emerged showing popular content creator Ekow Danful,
better known as Ekow Black, physically ass@ulting a young woman.
The footage, which began circulating on Wednesday, January
14, 2026, shows Ekow angrily striking a lady identified as Rechael while
shouting, “Foolish girl, foolish girl, leave me alone… Rachael leave me alone,”
as onlookers reportedly watched without stepping in. The clip immediately
triggered a wave of outrage online, with many users calling on the Ghana Police
Service to arrest the influencer and insisting that no provocation justifies
such physical violence.
As the backlash intensified, fellow influencer Quecy
Official raised alarm about Ekow’s mental state, claiming the TikToker had
become severely distressed. Quecy shared an emotional audio recording allegedly
sent by Ekow, in which he could be heard breaking down and expressing deep
regret over his actions. “It’s bad. What I did was very bad… It was toxic,” he
said in the clip, before going on to suggest that he felt he might not be
around much longer, prompting serious concern for his wellbeing.
Quecy further claimed that the video is not recent but
rather an old recording from a past relationship that has now resurfaced.
According to him, Ekow says Rechael is a former girlfriend and alleges that her
current partner threatened to pay bloggers to leak the footage in order to
destroy his reputation.
Screenshots circulating online also show a worrying post
shared by Ekow on his Instagram Story, threatening su!cide over the incident.
