U.S announces visa restrictions for Nigerians violating religious freedoms

Thursday, December 4, 2025 - The United States has announced new visa restrictions targeting Nigerians accused of undermining religious freedom.

The Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, disclosed this on X this evening December 3.  He said the restrictions will affect those who “knowingly direct, authorize, fund, support, or carry out violations of religious freedom”.
