Monday, December 8, 2025 - The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has condemned the activities of some people he said are destabilizing the South-East region of Nigeria.
Featuring in an interview on Sunday, the lawmaker warned
that nobody should benefit from the disruption of Igboland.
Uzor-Kalu was speaking on the state of the nation,
dismissing the accusation that he was sponsoring ‘Autopilot or ‘Biafra
Restoration Group.’
“I have never heard that name, and I cannot sponsor such a
thing. I want to live in a Nigeria where justice and equity prevail. I was
governor. I established the Bakassi, and the Bakassi was in charge. No one
should benefit from the disruption of Igboland.
“I think these kids should take Nigeria seriously and take
Igbo people seriously. They should stop doing these things they are doing. We
should be tired of this faction. We should think about how to move forward, how
to use political solutions to sort out the Igbos.
“Nobody takes the Igbo serious when it comes to these kinds
of things. These guys should stop this old-fashioned way of doing these things.
I think they should now find a way on how they can put back Igbo in the map of
Nigeria,” he said.
