Monday, December 29, 2025 - No fewer than four Nigerians have been arrested in India over drug-related offenses in separate operations carried out between Thursday and late Saturday.
According to Indian news outlets that the suspects were
arrested in different parts of the country during coordinated anti-narcotics
operations.
Those arrested include 37-year-old Tanguy Nguessan, Touchi,
Henry, and IK Prince.
According to the Free Press Journal on Saturday, the Tulinj
Police Detection Team, working alongside the Anti-Terrorism Cell, arrested
Nguessan during a raid in the Pragati Nagar area of Nalasopara East.
The report said the operation followed a tip-off that a
suspect was arriving in the area to traffic drugs.
“Acting on the intelligence, police raided the locality and
arrested a 37-year-old Nigerian national identified as Nguessan,” the news
outlet reported.
A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of 60
grams of cocaine, valued at about ₹12.6m
(about N205m on the international market).
He is currently in police custody while investigations
continue to uncover his network.
In another development, Bhaskar English reported that the
Jaipur Police Commissionerate arrested two Nigerians, identified as Touchi and
Henry, over the trafficking of MD drugs in Rajasthan.
According to the report on Friday, the suspects were
arrested in separate raids in Faridabad, Haryana, and Delhi, following the
arrest of three other traffickers found with MD drugs worth ₹550,000 in Jaipur’s Transport
Nagar area.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly disclosed that
the drugs were supplied by Touchi, who was later arrested in Faridabad.
Further investigation led police to Henry, who was
subsequently arrested in Delhi.
Police said both suspects were living in India illegally,
with expired visas, and had been using forged documents to evade arrest.
Investigators also recovered a list of alleged drug dealers operating across
Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan.
In a separate operation, ETV Bharat reported that the Agra
unit of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force arrested another Nigerian, identified as
IK Prince, described as a major drug trafficking kingpin.
Prince was arrested on Thursday in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area
after weeks of surveillance and was later taken to Mathura, where a court
remanded him in judicial custody.
According to police, Prince was living in India without a
valid passport or visa.
Circle Officer Umesh Panwar said Prince was linked to a
heroin trafficking case following the arrest of two suspects, Waqar and Faisal,
who were found with 1.045 kilograms of heroin in Mathura in October.
“During interrogation, they revealed that they were
supplying heroin to Prince, who was coordinating the operation,” Panwar said.
The police said 1.8 kilograms of heroin, valued between ₹6 and ₹8 crore, was recovered from Prince.
The report disclosed that the Indian authorities had also
informed the Nigerian Embassy and were investigating the wider network linked
to the operation.
Meanwhile, the ANTF’s Gorakhpur unit also arrested two other
suspects, Chhedi Yadav and Arun Singh, and recovered 530 grams of heroin,
pointing to what investigators described as an expanding interstate drug
network.
