Monday, December 29, 2025 - Four people escaped death on Sunday after a cement-laden truck rammed into the median along the Sagamu–Abeokuta Expressway.
According to the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic
Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the accident occurred at
about 7 a.m. at the Orile-Imo turning on the expressway.
According to Akinbiyi, the truck lost control due to
excessive speeding before crashing into the median.
He noted that all four occupants of the vehicle escaped
unhurt.
“A minor road traffic accident occurred at the Orile-Imo
turning along the PMB Expressway at about 6:35 a.m. on Sunday. It involved a
SHACMAN truck with an unknown registration number.
“According to an eyewitness account, the accident occurred
when the truck was travelling at an excessive speed, leading to a loss of
control.
“Four people were involved. No injuries or fatalities were
recorded,” Akinbiyi said.
He added that there was partial traffic congestion during
the evacuation of the vehicle, but normal traffic flow was restored shortly
after.
