Friday, November 21, 2025 - A 24-year-old man, Joshua Kosoro, has taken his own life at Umuogodo Akpu in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, days after he reportedly complained of hearing persistent strange voices.

Ukandu, confirmed the incident on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
According to the PPRO, the tragic incident occurred on
Sunday, 16 November after his family had gone out in search of a solution to
his condition.
Kosoro was said to have remained at home, and before they
returned, he had reportedly hanged himself.
“It was on Sunday; one Joshua Kosoro from Umuogodo Akpu
community, Ohaukwu LGA, who was based in Lagos, came to Ebonyi and told his
relatives that he heard strange voices," the PPRO said.
“He said the voices were talking to him and constantly
asking him to do strange things.
“The relatives went out to look for a solution to the
issues; as everyone was away from the house, he stayed back. Before they could
come back, they saw that he had hanged himself to d3ath."
"Officers of the Command visited the scene, and the
body was taken to the hospital, where he was certified d3ad,” Ukandu added.
He further disclosed that an investigation into the
circumstances surrounding the incident had commenced.
