Monday, November 10, 2025 - Mike Smith, known to millions as Bubbles from the cult-favorite series “Trailer Park Boys,” has been charged with s3xual assault, according to new reports out of Canada.
CBC says the charge was filed in Halifax earlier this month
and stems from an alleged incident dating back to 2017. Smith has reportedly
been ordered not to contact the alleged victim or go near their home,
workplace, or school.
Trailer Park Boys Inc. confirmed that Smith has stepped away
from his role as managing director while the legal process plays out. In a
statement, the company said it takes allegations of this nature seriously and
won’t be commenting further out of respect for the ongoing case.
Smith is best known for playing Bubbles across 116 episodes
of “Trailer Park Boys,” the wildly popular mockumentary that premiered in 2001
and originally ran until 2007. Netflix revived the franchise in 2014, adding
five more seasons and multiple movies. Smith announced earlier this year that
Season 13 is on the way and set to drop in April 2026.
This isn’t the first time Smith has faced legal trouble.
Back in 2016, he was arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly pinning a woman
against a wall. Prosecutors ultimately declined to pursue the case, saying
there wasn’t enough evidence.
Smith’s manager, creator Mike Clattenburg, Paquin
Entertainment Group, Trailer Park Boys+, and the Jones Entertainment Group are
yet to react to the development.
